Recycling At Point Hope

Did you know that at Point Hope you are not required to separate your trash from your recycling? That’s because in 2019, Berkeley County contracted with a new recycling facility called RePower South to implement a major “single stream collection” program designed to make it easier for households to recycle.

At Point Hope, residents simply place all garbage and recycling materials into their green City of Charleston bin for collection. Recyclable material is separated from waste bins at the Reporter South facility in Berkeley County and then sold in commodity markets to be reused for new products.

Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding Berkley County’s recycling program:

Q: Who can I contact if I have questions about RePower South’s recycling processes?

A: Contact RePower South at 843-823-4499 or info@repowersouth.com

Q: A: Are residents charged for this service?

Q: Are there items that RePower South does not recycle?

A; For a full list of items that are acceptable to recycle, contact RePower South at 843-823-4499 or info@repowersouth.com
